Athletic Indoor Stadium
SPORT FACILITIES & LEISURE CENTERS
The project for the construction in Kazakhstan of a stage for the world indoor athletics competitions.
The concept is inspired by the tradition of yurts, the mobile homes of the nomadic Kazakhs made up of circular structures made of wood and canvas cover. The union of the three elements of the yurt – the curtain coverage, the winding structure design, the curved, circular or elliptical in plan – inspired the birth of project’s basic idea.

The project is designed in accordance with international criteria established by the International Amateur Athletics Federation (IAAF) for indoor track and field stadiums: therefore ineligible to host all athletics disciplines provided for indoor stadiums.
The stadium has a capacity of 10,000-12,000 spectators.
